A Persian wedding has its own timing, etiquette, humor, family dynamics, and musical language. Pooya has spent more than a decade learning how to navigate all of it while keeping the experience polished for couples, parents, planners, and guests.
The goal is never to press play on a generic “Persian wedding playlist.” Every set is mixed live and shaped in the moment, moving from nostalgic Iranian favorites to modern Persian dance records, house, hip-hop, pop, Latin, or whatever else fits the room.
Based in California and available for weddings nationwide. Travel events and destination weddings are welcome.
Built for the Way Persian Weddings Actually Feel
Persian weddings often bring several generations and cultures into one room. The right DJ has to understand the traditions without making the night feel dated, and understand modern dance music without losing the family. That balance is the entire job.
Classics, 80s and 90s favorites, bandari, modern Persian pop, remixes and the songs different generations expect to hear.
Introductions and announcements can be handled naturally in both languages so no side of the family feels left out.
Music is mixed in real time with attention to the dance floor, allowing the set to change the second your guests do.
Persian and American is only the beginning. Sets can also incorporate Afghan, Arabic, Armenian, Indian, Latin and other requested music.
Premium sound, wireless microphones, intelligent lighting, uplights and backup equipment are planned around the venue.
Must-plays, do-not-plays, special dances and Spotify or YouTube playlists are all organized before the wedding.

Use live music during the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner or directly over the DJ set. The musicians can be booked individually or integrated into a larger wedding entertainment package.

Persian weddings have a long memory. Morteza, Shahram Shabpareh and Ebi are the kind of artists that can pull multiple generations in from the first few seconds. Some records become full-room sing-alongs; others work best when the night needs a familiar reset before the dance floor builds again.

6/8 is still part of the DNA of a Persian dance floor. Sasy can hit instantly with a younger crowd, while Andy & Kouros, Shahram Shabpareh, Black Cats and Mansour bring the records people have been dancing to for years. That mix of newer and older 6/8 is what keeps the floor feeling Persian without locking it into one generation.
Bandari
Bandari changes the feel of the room. Sandy’s “Aroosiye Bandari”, Hassan Shamaizadeh’s “Rotab” and other southern favorites bring a looser, more rhythmic energy that Persian crowds recognize immediately. It works best when it gets a real run in the set instead of one token track.
Diaspora Pop
For a lot of Iranian-American families, Los Angeles-era Persian pop is the bridge between nostalgia and party music. Leila Forouhar, Susan Roshan, Afshin and Shahram Solati are the kind of names that can light up parents, cousins and friends without making the night feel stuck in one decade.
Newer Persian Pop
The younger side of the room usually wants newer Persian records sitting naturally beside house, hip-hop and American pop. Sohrab Pakzad, Sami Beigi, Shahab Tiam, Omid Hajili and Mohsen Chavoshi can live in the same night as the classics—the set just has to move between generations without sounding like two separate weddings.
